The MCA is proud to present the inaugural TSM progress report by the Australian minerals industry.
TSM protocols support mining companies in developing management systems and meeting other requirements to achieve the commitments laid out in the TSM Guiding Principles.
The report is based on the voluntary reporting of performance by 12 MCA member companies covering 35 facilities.
These protocols are above and beyond regulatory or legislative requirements, to which companies are expected to meet.
Each protocol includes indicators that help companies and facilities build, measure and publicly report on the quality of their management systems and their performance.
The goal is for each facility is to demonstrate continual improvement and to reach good practice (Level A or a “Yes” response in line with TSM’s rating system) for all indicators by providing evidence demonstrating that systems and processes are in place.
The TSM framework is designed for members with operating facilities and companies can be in varying stages of implementation depending on project stage or when a company first adopted TSM.
These stages include initial confidential reporting, public reporting, or undergoing external verification of self-assessments.
